On Saturday January 4th, 2024 our sustainable neighborhood group ran a Christmas tree and lights and recycling event for the neighborhood.
We passed out hot chocolate and treats as people brought their trees and lights by South Lakewood Elementary.
In total we recycled 21 trees.
Instead of heading to a landfill where trees take up space and biodegrade slowly, these trees are being mulched by the city of Lakewood.
