On January 7th, 202 the sustainable neighborhood group took 16 Christmas trees to the city greenhouse for composting.
As a city the estimated total amount of leaves collected was 3,500 yards, and 1,500 Christmas trees were recycled! All of the leaves and mulch from the trees will be reused as mulch and groundcover in Lakewood parks, and mulch is also available for Lakewood residents to pick up at the city greenhouse.
